Oil on canvas. 2020. A transgender friend from the artists' hometown of Shiraz, Iran, was the model for this piece. As they were painted, they told their story and the everyday struggle that they endure. The artist wanted to capture the intense feelings deep inside that normally you can't see. This is why the colors are so vivid and have a certain harshness to them. You can feel the pain and uncertainty in the subjects expression.
