Oil on wood. 2018. A transgender friend from the artists' hometown of Shiraz, Iran, was the model for this piece. As he was painted, he told his story and the everyday struggle that he endures. The artist wanted to capture the intense feelings inside that normally you can't see. This is why the colors are so vivid and have a certain harshness to them. You can feel the pain and uncertainty in the subjects expression.
