For this piece, I was inspired by a dream I had where I was falling beneath the surface of the sea looking up at the light breaking through the water and seaweed above me. The dream felt like an anxiety dream and I learned that drowning in a dream can express overwhelming feelings or a fear of losing oneself. This piece represents those feelings and is sort of a way of describing my anxiety. I chose glass for the substrate of this piece because it would more effectively capture the texture of water and would be able to facilitate light breaking through the sea and seaweed.
